Position Overview Operate a Class B Hazmat vehicle, delivering compressed and liquid gas cylinders and hard goods along designated routes. Collect empty cylinders from customers. Address customer inquiries, ensuring satisfaction. Conduct pre/post‑trip vehicle checks, noting issues and ensuring safety compliance. Present a professional appearance and maintain the vehicle’s condition.
Responsibilities
Safely load, deliver and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to customer locations. Return empty cylinders to either a plant or branch location for refilling.
Establish and maintain good customer relations. Provide timely communication back to manager or to the customer’s assigned Airgas sales associate regarding any changes or issues experienced by the customer.
Maintain load manifests and all required vehicle documents by ensuring they are properly completed and reconciled with truck counts and shipping documents before and after deliveries. Ensure that vehicle manifests, vehicle placards, cylinder labeling and load nesting and strapping at all times comply with Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR) and all government regulations.
Work in warehouse or on dock as needed.
Pay Range Pay range $27.50‑$30/hr
Qualifications Required Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years of age
1+ years experience
Class A/B CDL with HazMat and Air Brakes endorsements (or ability to obtain)
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
Ability to perform very heavy work – routinely lifts 25‑75 lbs. and occasionally lifts 76 to greater than 100 lbs.
Lives by Airgas safety programs, OSHA, and all related rules, regulations, procedures which are applicable to this position’s responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred, One (1) years of HazMat experience.
Product knowledge of cryogenic, compressed and specialty gases, preferred.
