Material Handler – Day Shift
Lactalis U.S. Yogurt , a family‑owned leader in dairy, is hiring at Londonderry, NH.
Job Summary As a Material Handler, you will receive raw materials, perform cycle counts, maintain an orderly warehouse, and operate power industrial equipment (training provided). You will support production lines and assist with inventory reconciliation.
Key Responsibilities
All aspects of food safety and quality.
Stage and deliver raw materials required for all production lines on a daily basis.
Work with other Material Handlers and filler operators to ensure materials are staged in a timely fashion.
Receive incoming raw materials and supplies.
Use handheld device to receive and transfer inventory items in and out of warehouse stock.
Facilitate raw material cycle counts and assist in reconciling inventory.
Maintain organization and cleanliness of the dry‑goods warehouse.
Check for shortages and reject damaged goods on incoming freight deliveries.
Build raw material orders for co‑packers.
Maintain recycling area presentable and complete waste tracking forms.
Unload recyclable material into balers and other bins.
Maintain records and documents as necessary.
Receive plant chemicals and transfer to secondary storage containers.
Prepare collection bins; operate bin washer if necessary.
Create bales of plastic & cardboard from vertical balers and manually bale cardboard.
Operate power industrial equipment such as forklifts, tuggers, crane, balers, compactor and bin washer in a safe manner.
Other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule Two‑week rotation: 12‑hour shifts. Week 1: 48 hours; Week 2: 36 hours. 6:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. (Saturday on, Sunday on, Monday off; alternates each week).
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
1–3 years prior experience in material handling or warehouse environment preferred.
Prior use of powered industrial equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, high lifts) recommended.
Strong organizational and math skills.
Experience using warehouse management systems and RF handheld technology.
Ability to flex schedule and work overtime as business needs.
Ability to manage time, work in a fast‑paced environment, and communicate concerns promptly.
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Ability to work in a team and adapt to changing work environments.
Physical Requirements
Consistently stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle items.
Occasionally sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Push/pull up to 50 lb. Lift/carry up to 50 lb.
Ability to operate powered equipment occasionally.
Work Environment
Noisy environment, occasional high noise levels.
Work interruptions during the day are consistent.
Occasional overtime required.
Requires consistently wearing personal protective equipment such as hearing protection, safety shoes, hair nets, safety vests, and bump caps.
