The Project Scheduler plays a critical role in the planning and execution of project schedules for complex utility infrastructure projects. This position involves creating, maintaining, and analyzing detailed schedules, coordinating closely with cross-functional teams, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and in compliance with contractual and safety requirements. They will bring strong technical scheduling skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Ensures that a culture of Safety exists within their assigned projects as the number one organizational priority.
Provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions, equipment, and systems of work for self and all employees, and to participate in training as needed for this purpose.
Develop, update, and maintain detailed construction schedules for electrical utility projects using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or customer required software.
Coordinate with engineers, field supervisors, project managers, subcontractors, and utility clients to collect schedule data and provide timely updates.
Track and analyze project progress, highlighting critical path items, milestone completion, and resource allocations.
Integrate data from estimates, drawings, change orders, and field reports into schedule updates and forecasts.
Load schedules with cost and labor resources, allocating estimated man-hours and costs by discipline.
Support planning and coordination of outages, energizations, permitting timelines, and material deliveries.
Attend and contribute to planning meetings, pre-construction reviews, and project status sessions.
Visit job sites to verify physical progress, assess out-of-sequence work, and ensure alignment between field activities and the schedule.
Prepare and distribute reports, look-aheads, forecasts, and graphics to internal and external stakeholders.
Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Electrical Engineering or related field is preferred. A high school diploma with 5-10 years of experience in the electrical construction industry or related field will be considered.
Skilled in Microsoft application software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.); Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
Demonstrated capability for problem solving, decision making, sound judgment, and assertiveness.
The ability to be self-directed once responsibilities and vision are communicated.
Excellent customer service and ability to understand customer expectations and contractual requirements.
Project Management Certification (PMP) preferred.
