Compensation
Pay range is $20 - $28 an hour (Based on Experience) - paid weekly $1 per hour as shift differential + $2 per hour for perfect attendance per pay period
Shift Nights
Job Summary Under the general direction of the Extrusion Manager and designated Shift Supervisor, this position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations to ensure the safe and efficient utilization of manpower, machinery and materials to produce quality HDPE film. This position has multiple levels with advancement based on demonstrated Operator knowledge and ability/department developed criteria.
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities
Understand and follow all JSA’s and safety procedures/policies
Safely and efficiently set‑up and operate extrusion lines to produce high‑quality HDPE film
Operate extrusion lines as needed in accordance with job safety analysis, standard operating procedures, quality procedures, and operator training to meet or exceed productivity requirements and minimize downtime and waste
Ensure that proper materials are being used in accordance with procedures
Monitor roll weights to ensure the correct gauge is maintained throughout the shift
Accurately navigates and inputs information in production management system
Assure proper processing and labeling of film
Complete daily production reporting
Oversee the safety performance and awareness of the department
Maintain housekeeping to expected levels
Ensure consistent product quality for the department including, testing methods and use of process improvement tools
Maintain accurate materials records and adequate inventory of raw materials
Be responsible for assisting and training department employees in the areas of safety, quality, production, technical knowledge, troubleshooting skills, etc.
Must lead by example by modeling fairness, consistency, and a high level of performance coupled with an exemplary work ethic
Operate forklift as needed
Diagnose and complete intermediate level repairs
Maintain and pump materials from railcars to the silo(s)
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent
Ability to work 12‑hour day and night rotating shift
Strong computer and math skills; proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Word preferred
Demonstrated mechanical/analytical skills
Demonstrated ability to work diplomatically and effectively overseeing the work of others
Work overtime, weekends, holidays as required
Satisfactorily complete training courses as determined by management
