Emergency Department Technician The ED Technician assists the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse in implementing plans of care for emergency/minor emergency care patients. Performs patient procedures and treatments under the supervision of the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse.

Work Shift Multiple shifts available

Requirements

One of the following in addition to minimum education:

EMT‑B with state or national certification at time of hire

Successful completion of US Military Hospital Corps School (qualified MMAC candidates)

Current student enrolled in a clinical program (e.g., RN, LPN, Respiratory, Physical Therapy) who has completed at least one semester

OR

prior employment in the Sentara ED tech job code within the past two years

HS Diploma or Equivalent (Required)

BLS certification within 90 days of hire

Clinical experience (Required)

De‑escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire
