Job Title Dockworker, North American
Job Description The Dockworker, North American is responsible for safely and efficiently unloading, sorting, handling and loading freight in accordance with verbal and written instructions, as well as Federal, State, and customer regulations. To perform this job successfully, an individual must satisfactorily perform each essential duty. Responsibilities
Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers, by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment.
Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
Control and maintain all records required for accurate, on‑time completion of shipments.
Work in a team environment to accomplish work assignments.
Support and promote company core values.
Regular attendance is required.
Comply with company C‑TPAT and TSA security procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks.
Attention to detail and good follow‑up skills.
Ability to read and interpret general business documents.
Ability to write routine reports and general business correspondence.
Ability to work with peers and communicate basic concepts.
Ability to solve practical problems through standardized solutions that require limited judgment.
Ability to follow prescribed and detailed procedures to solve routine problems.
Good judgment; knows when to expand issues and when to try to resolve.
Ability to work independently or in a team setting, in a fast‑paced environment.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web‑based and job specific software applications.
Ability to type and update computer system quickly and accurately.
Proven competence to communicate clearly and persuasively with all levels of an organization.
A team player with a high level of energy and self‑motivation.
Excellent spelling, grammar and written/oral communication skills.
Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple projects and set priorities.
Must be mentally and emotionally capable of handling a high stress environment.
Must be able to pass TSA screening to work in an IAC environment.
Experience working in Freight Forwarding or Transportation industry preferred.
Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Education / Experience Minimum of a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 0–2 years of experience. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.

Physical Demands The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be capable of individually lifting a minimum of 30 lbs and team lifting a minimum of 70 lbs. This involves muscular endurance and resistance to muscle fatigue. The employee is frequently required to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is required to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer) and at a distance.
Work Environment While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold and/or heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
