The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for ensuring the quality of raw materials and finished goods used by and/or manufactured at ADM Deerland Probiotics and Enzymes. The primary function of this role is to be a “hands on” technician that performs quality assurance / control functions and assists in compliance with internal and external regulations, protocols, and policies.

Shift Hours: 7:00am–3:30pm Monday–Friday, must be open to overtime including weekends and holidays.

Major Accountabilities

Ensure facility and products meet all local and federal food/supplement safety regulations

Act as a facilitator/coach in areas such as Quality Control techniques, Good Manufacturing Practices, and product quality/safety

Sample and analyze raw materials, in process goods, and finished products to assure compliance to specifications

Perform cleaning validations and line clearance using, but not limited to, ATP technologies

Assist with quality team audits including, but not limited to, Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP

Record and evaluate test data, alerting the Quality department of any deviations from specifications

Assist in data collection and analysis for ongoing quality improvements

Partner with plant operations, maintenance, quality, and engineering to ensure that good manufacturing practices, sanitation and pest control programs, procedures and systems are effectively monitored per policy requirements

Assist in drafting and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and Forms as directed

Partner with operations team to build a strong food safety culture, to ensure pre-requisite programs are effective for producing a safe food/supplement product and to facilitate the successful execution of customer, regulatory, and certification audits

Support document control activities including reviewing batch records for completeness, verifying logs and records are appropriately completed, and maintaining quality records as required

Review lab analysis reports and communicate findings to QA leadership for disposition of raw materials, in‑process products, and finished goods

Follow and enforce all company GMPs and SOPs

Minimum Education Required High School/GED

Additional Qualifications / Responsibilities

Education

– Minimum – High School Diploma

Experience

– Preferred – Associate degree in a science‑related field

Experience

– Preferred: Two years of experience as a QA/QC technician in a food, dietary supplement, or pharmaceutical GMP environment

Experience

– Experience working in an FDA regulated environment

Experience

– Experience in Federal and State Food Safety Regulations including HACCP and GFSI

Experience

– Experience with food safety and defence programs

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Must be able to occasionally lift up to 55 pounds

Ability to perform a standing job for a full shift

Must be able to walk, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, reach and grasp for varying periods of time

Ability to differentiate subtle variances in color

Ability to wear a respirator and hearing protection

Ability to work overtime or weekends as needed to support production schedules

Fluent In English Required, Bilingual (Spanish) Preferred

Must possess a valid US driver’s license

ADM requires the successful completion of a background check.

Compensation Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non‑exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

When hired, employees will be in an “at‑will” position and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

The Pay For This Position Is Expected To Be

$21.50/Hour Plus $2 shift Differential
