Description
Position is responsible for receiving palletized freight, putting it away in rack and shaping the same. Majority of the time is spent on material handling equipment, with occasional lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds.
Load and unload trucks.
Prepare orders for pickup by customers or trucking companies.
Pick orders.
Label boxes.
Receive palletized freight, put it away in rack, and shape it as required.
Operate material handling equipment.
Lifting materials up to 30 pounds when necessary.
Use safety equipment (eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, hard hats). Loose-fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
Position Requirements
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Job Knowledge: Understands duties, responsibilities, and necessary technical skills. Keeps job knowledge current and is in command of critical issues.
Dependability: Meets commitments, works independently, handles change, sets personal standards, stays focused under pressure, and meets attendance/punctuality requirements.
Product Knowledge: Understands product and relevant product lines, customer needs, and product handling/storage requirements.
Productivity: Manages a fair workload, volunteers for additional work, prioritizes tasks, develops good work procedures, manages time well, and accurately handles workflow.
Teamwork: Meets group deadlines and responsibilities, listens to others, values opinions, helps department leads meet goals, welcomes newcomers, and promotes a team atmosphere.
Depends on location: Requires experience on seat-down forklift, deep reach forklift, and pallet jack.
