Production Operator at Avient
Pay: $21.01 - $31.46
Hours: 10:45pm – 7:15am (Sunday – Thursday)
About the role: As a Production Operator you’ll set up and operate equipment to blend, mix, or transport chemicals that make up our customer products, ensuring high quality and cost efficiency. You’ll also be responsible for machine maintenance, quality control, data recording, and supporting the company's vision and principles while adhering to safety and regulatory rules.

Essential Duties
Set up, start and run all machinery
Weigh ingredients to meet recipe specification and insert into machinery, or ensure correct ingredients are delivered to work area and insert pre‑blended materials
Monitor production and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Troubleshoot equipment and processing issues
Operate machinery to mix, extrude/discharge or handle materials
May take samples of materials to lab for evaluation and instructions on any batch adjustments if needed
Perform all required machine cleaning
Document work completed as required including logs, data reports, procedures, etc.
Qualifications
High School diploma, GED or equivalent training & experience
Preferred experience in an industrial operations environment
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, or procedure manuals
Must have mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide; must be able to use conversions, work with different units (weight, volume, density, distance, etc.)
Physical Demands
Requires standing and sitting for extended periods of time, talking and listening
Must be able to walk and use hands; occasionally requires bending, stooping, climbing ladders and stairs
May occasionally be required to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds
Ability to frequently communicate and understand work instructions and information in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment where noise level is loud
Must be able to detect and discern safety alarms and respond accordingly
Generally requires the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, hard hat, respiratory protection
Exposure to outside weather conditions is routine; may be exposed to extreme heat and humidity and dust or fumes on occasion
Compensation and Benefits The final compensation within this range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
