Job Description As the Business Coordinator I, under general supervision, you will provide support and coordination of a variety of CMTS business and financial activities requiring independent judgment. This includes reviewing CMTS business documents, developing, monitoring, and reporting accounts, service‑block activity, and budget data as directed by the supervisor. The role requires an analytical mindset and the ability to navigate and build reports through financial systems such as Canopy, as well as process transactions through iPayments and FAMIS. You will assist with business documentation organization and filing to support operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
Review and approve CMTS vouchers and requisitions; audit reconciliations of multiple CMTS unit accounts; monitor and report on CMTS budget activity, including service‑block utilization.
Prepare monthly and annual financial reports; provide input and interpret policies and procedures.
Coordinate annual fiscal year closing activities and draft new fiscal year plans; coordinate routine fiscal activities for CMTS.
Propose solutions to routine financial and operational problems; communicate cash handling procedures; approve and implement cash handling activities; coordinate CMTS purchasing, inventory processes, and maintenance of business files.
Generate and maintain CMTS operational reports, including active project reports, service‑block utilization, and workload summaries; create or update reporting dashboards using Power BI, Canopy, or other tools.
Serve as a liaison with financial units.
Assist in planning, developing, implementing, coordinating, and monitoring CMTS business programs or services.
Assist with administration of CMTS contracts and service agreements; prepare budgets for review; develop financial and statistical analyses and summary reports; compose correspondence; administer unit, program, or project operations.
Participate in hiring and training of CMTS business staff and/or student workers; provide supervision and train staff on new and existing procedures and regulations.
Perform other assigned duties.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least two years of related experience in business operations, finance, accounting, or administrative support roles.
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet applications, and financial systems; ability to learn and navigate CMTS tools such as Canopy, iPayments, and FAMIS.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively across CMTS teams and partner institutions.
Effective planning, organizational, and analytical skills, including ability to interpret financial data and prepare reports.
Ability to multitask, manage competing priorities, and work cooperatively in a dynamic service‑center environment.

Salary & Benefits Salary:
Pay Grade 8 (Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience.)
Full‑time remote work is not available for this position. Partial remote work may be available, pending employee eligibility requirements and AgriLife Alternate Work Location Procedures.
