The
Baler ITO
is responsible for maintaining and driving forklifts, moving product, equipment, or materials in the warehouse and in and out of trucks.
Key Accountabilities
Drives industrial truck with a lifting device to push, pull, lift, stack, tier or move products, equipment, or materials in the warehouse and in and out of trucks. Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and controls movement of lifting apparatus. Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials or hooks to tow trucks to trailer hitch, transports load to designated area.
Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.
May inventory materials on work floor, and supply workers materials as needed.
Weighs materials or products and records weight in computer system, tags, labels, or production schedules.
Loads or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting device.
May lubricate truck, recharge batteries, or replace liquefied gas tank.
Unload and restack cardboard onto other pallets, also may include top frames.
Must perform housekeeping activities in the warehouse using broom, and occasionally a spider web duster.
Must inspect chucks under trailer wheels, and also inspect chipboard and sort.
Operate automated baler system.
Handle and dump scrap or spoilage at baler.
Communicate issues with incoming product immediately and follow up.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge / Skills / Experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Detail oriented
Familiar with Personal Protective Equipment
Prior experience in a fast-paced manufacturing facility
Key Job Competencies / Physical Demands
Exposure to heat, cold, vibrations, and loud noise
Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, and use of foot pedals
Willing and able to work overtime, weekends, holidays and night shifts
