Facilities Maintenance Technician 2nd Shift SUMMARY:

Facilities Technician will perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair work including, but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic production and facility systems and equipment. Additional obligations include facility beautification through handyman repairs, grounds maintenance, and property cleanliness and upkeep.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Learn to read and demonstrate competency interpreting equipment manuals, drawings, schematics, blueprints, and work orders to perform required maintenance.

Diagnose problems and failures and repair or replace parts as required.

Adjust various types of devices and control systems.

Inspect, monitor, and maintain ammonia refrigeration systems and wastewater systems; understand system components and relationships; troubleshoot and repair.

Perform facility repairs and beautification.

Complete daily preventive maintenance tasks and reports.

Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local agencies, including OSHA and EPA.

Collaborate with the Safety Manager to develop and implement written Process Safety Manual (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RPM) programs.

Operate and maintain all facility heating and air conditioning systems.

Troubleshoot electrical problems.

Follow safety rules and regulations as established by Daily’s.

Keep accurate and timely work records and submit required paperwork.

Perform additional processes as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Requires high school diploma or GED (encouraged), technical or refrigeration technician certification preferred, HAZMAT certification preferred, CARO or CIRO certification preferred. Two years operating anhydrous ammonia systems or HVAC/R experience – or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must be able to acquire additional certifications including Forklift, Pallet jack, Lockout/Tag out, Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry, Man‑lifts, or other equipment as required. Must pass Daily’s Maintenance Assessment and pulmonary test for refrigeration positions.

Communication, Mathematical, and Reasoning Skills:

Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and manuals; read blueprints and wire diagrams; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups; read, write, comprehend simple instructions in English; bilingual Spanish/English preferred but not required. Apply mathematical concepts to practical situations; solve problems quickly with good judgment.

Physical Demands:

Regularly move about the facility; sit, use hand‑to‑finger coordination; handle objects, tools, controls; reach with hands/arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl; lift 25–40 pounds routinely, push/move up to 100 pounds occasionally; grip and adjust items up to 130 feet; work in confined spaces; specific vision: close, color, depth, focus; must work with all types of electrical equipment and tools.

Work Environment:

Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet/humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, electrical shock, vibration, high temperatures; noise level occasionally loud; wear OSHA PPE required.

Normal Work Schedule:

Generally 12‑hour shifts, including weekends and holidays.
