The Yard Operator, working under direct supervision, is responsible for supporting the construction and facilities staff in completing routine projects that involve the retrieval of materials to the yard and maintenance of inventory. The role develops an understanding of construction and facilities issues to help contractors who are checking out material or in need of material. The role entails conducting preventative maintenance on tools and equipment, organizing and maintaining the yard infrastructure, and ensuring safe access and egress of the yard. The role is pivotal in optimizing the organization, maintenance, and accessibility of materials and equipment within the yard.
Responsibilities
Assists Workover consultants on day-to-day needs for tubing and downhole equipment and supports in scanning, identifying, sorting, and cataloging NORM impacted material.
Works under direct supervision to assist in routine departmental tasks, prioritizing projects, monitoring costs, implementing SOPs, and providing technical training to optimize results.
Maintains inventory and usable material in the yard for future projects and assists in the general preventative maintenance of owned and leased tools and equipment.
Supports in developing and maintaining a plan for organization and maintenance of the yard, including storage tents, pipe racks dumpsters, and other miscellaneous material.
Recognizes, analyzes, and resolves routine problems, taking corrective action in emergency and non-emergency situations, contributing to operational efficiency and safety.
Helps ensure safe access and egress of yard i.e., plowing snow/maintaining a level surface in driving lanes.
Practices safe work habits always, including contractors in the yard and any other personal in the yard or tent.
Possesses the right and obligation to stop work in unsafe conditions, contributing to a safe and secure working environment for all personnel.
Education
High School Diploma/General Education Diploma (GED)s required.
Experience
0-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in E&P Operations specializing in Yard Management, Pipeline Construction, Facilities Maintenance, and Construction Codes and Standards or a related field. Industry experience is preferred.
