House Painter – Full‑time, Entry level Responsibilities
Apply coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to interior and exterior surfaces. Smooth surfaces, remove old paint with scraping or sandblasting, and fill nail holes and cracks with caulk or plaster. Prepare and mix paint or paste to match specified colors. Remove fixtures, prepare walls, and apply paint using brushes, rollers, or spray guns. Install, trim, and paste wallpaper or fabric, ensuring smooth joints and a neat finish. Set up scaffolding or ladders to reach high areas and measure and cut strips accurately. Wear protective equipment (respirator, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection) as required. Travel to various Midwest worksites; overnight travel may be required. Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalency (required). 1–3 years of painting experience (preferred). Driver’s license and reliable transportation. Ability to read and interpret simple instructions and blueprints. Basic math skills – addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of two‑digit numbers. Ability to meet attendance requirements. Strong teamwork and independent work skills. Experience working at heights from ladders or lifts. Availability for flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and nights. Physical Demands
Frequent standing, walking, reaching, and lifting of up to 75 pounds. Occasional lifting of 100 pounds. Requires good vision and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment
Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals (epoxy, cured coatings), high or precarious working locations, outside weather, and loud noise. Work may involve vibration and extreme temperatures. EEO Statement
