The Opportunity ISMG is seeking a
Senior Correspondent
to lead BankInfoSecurity’s coverage of cyber fraud, banking threats, digital identity, financial regulation, and emerging risks across global financial services.
In this high‑impact reporting role, you’ll
break news , conduct
exclusive interviews with CISOs and regulators , and shape editorial direction for one of the industry’s most respected information security publications. This position is ideal for an experienced financial or cybersecurity journalist who thrives on owning a beat, building sources, and telling stories that influence risk, policy, and technology decision‑making at the highest levels.
What You’ll Do
Create and curate timely, engaging, and authoritative content for BankInfoSecurity and CUInfoSecurity.
Develop and maintain an editorial calendar in alignment with industry events, regulatory updates, and breaking news.
Produce and edit 3–5+ pieces of multi‑media content weekly (articles, thought leadership, investigative features, original video/audio interviews, etc.).
Conduct interviews with senior banking, cybersecurity, and compliance executives.
Curate expert speaker panels and moderate sessions for ISMG’s global summits and CISO roundtables, producing event coverage and securing interviews.
Research and analyze trends and market activities across banking and technology sectors.
What You Bring to the Table Must‑haves
7+ years reporting experience in financial services, cybersecurity, tech policy, or enterprise IT.
Ability to break news and develop senior‑level sources.
Strong reporting/writing, news judgment, and interviewing skills.
Adept at explaining complex technical concepts in a clear, compelling way.
Nice‑to‑Haves (Not required — can be learned on the job)
Experience covering cyber threats, fraud, or regulatory compliance.
Existing relationships with banking, fintech, or cybersecurity leaders.
Experience producing multimedia content and/or a background in video interviews, podcasts, or panels.
Event moderation experience.
