Duties & Responsibilities:

Independently perform advanced ultrasound procedures.

Consult with the referring physician to determine the appropriate ultrasound protocol based on the patient’s medical history.

Administer and interpret scans, identify deviations from normal anatomy, and notify the physician when abnormalities are detected.

Assist the physician with advanced and invasive ultrasound procedures.

Perform minor maintenance and repair of equipment, ensuring quality control and compliance with safety standards.

Schedule ultrasound examinations when necessary.

Train resident physicians and other clinical professionals in ultrasound techniques; explain ultrasound principles to staff.

Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of ultrasound procedures.

Participate in quality assurance activities.

Act as a supervisor/manager when required, overseeing work, providing technical assistance, and assigning daily responsibilities.

Complete any related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school graduate or equivalent, with a Bachelor’s degree in a health‑care related field acceptable in lieu of one year of experience.

Current valid registration, certification, or licensure in medical sonography; accreditation by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS) is required.

Two (2) years (24 months) of progressively responsible work experience in an ultrasound specialty.

Current CPR certification.
