Job Description
At Millennium Space Systems (MSS), a part of Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), we are seeking an IT Help Desk Technician to support the IT team in El Segundo, CA. This role provides technical support to Millennium employees and contractors, ensuring client satisfaction and proper operation of PCs and technology. The position requires working first shift.
Job Summary
The IT Help Desk Technician will provide technical support and assistance to Millennium employees and contractors, either by phone or in person. This position is level 2 on the Technical Support - Help Desk internal job code.
Position Responsibilities
Manage Help Desk tickets in a timely and organized manner using Service Now ticketing system.
Respond to customer issues via phone, email, and computer chat to provide assistance.
Document customer interactions.
Run diagnostics to resolve customer reported issues.
Support new employee onboarding.
Escalate issues as needed to the next tier of IT support.
Install, change, and repair computer hardware and software.
Follow up with customers to ensure issues are resolved.
This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. A US person includes a US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required)
Technical degree or 2+ years of experience working in a help desk role.
Proficiency with Dell Computers utilizing Windows 10/11.
Excellent oral communication skills.
Detail oriented.
Highly organized with strong ability to keep help desk tickets in order.
Ability to diagnose and resolve basic computer, mobile devices, and printer technical issues.
Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance requiring U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Security Clearance Post-Start is required.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired)
Experience with Active Directory.
Experience with Office365 enterprise.
Experience with IP Phones.
Experience with Windows 10/11.
Experience supporting new employee onboarding.
Microsoft Certified Systems Associate.
CompTIA A+ certification.
CompTIA Security+ certification.
