POSITION SUMMARY The Inventory Control Associate is responsible for operating MHEs to move, locate, stack and count material. The Associate will perform computer data entry for receipts, shipments and inventory maintenance, and support the supervisor/manager in maintaining quality standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain accurate warehouse inventory.
Direct customer interface to answer questions and resolve issues.
Return and transfer material to the appropriate area.
Relocate material to keep inventory range and locations.
Use MHE safely.
Function autonomously, reporting progress and issues to supervisor/management.
Follow company policies, guidelines, and procedures.
Maintain appropriate records and reports to ensure inventory control and security.
Conduct physical inventory and support daily/monthly cycle counts.
Perform safety audits and report unsafe operations.
Participate in daily staff meetings and assist supervision as needed.
Use PC skills for e‑mail and generating reports.
Initiate action to prevent non‑conformities and recommend solutions.
Review inbound/outbound functions and ship material to factory upon client requests.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area; perform housekeeping audits.
OTHER DUTIES (Site Specific)
Assist leadership as needed.
Work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends, as required.
Participate in cross‑training matrix activities and serve as backup associate when needed.
Work overtime as dictated by business.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance
Execute all safety protocols and accomplish job tasks in a manner that promotes safety.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the facility; assist in security of the warehouse.
Comply with all SOPs, corporate and site‑specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/MSDS Standards.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED.
6 months experience working in a logistics/distribution environment.
Ability to operate MHE.
Able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during warmer and colder months (mild to moderate).
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations
Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program.
Computer Skills
Basic computer skills.
RF Scanners.
WMS functions.
Language Skills
English (reading, writing, verbal).
Mathematical Skills
Basic to intermediate level for verifying quantities, counting inventory, or performing duties associated with handling, storing, and distributing client products.
Other
Strong attention to detail and accuracy; accomplish job tasks in a timely manner.
Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance.
Adapt to change and thrive in a fast‑paced work environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1-3 years working in an inventory department.
1-3 years forklift experience.
Current or prior MHE certification.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS Occasionally: Hand & Finger manipulation, Sitting, Handling product and/or packaging materials.
Frequently: Bending.
Constantly: Walking and Standing; Ability to Lift/Carry and Push/Pull 21-50 pounds; Reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel.
WORK ENVIRONMENT The employee is rarely exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxins or caustic chemicals. Noise level is usually low to moderate.
