About the Job This is a temporary appointment, which is focused on completing facilities and system updates to the Wind Tunnel system, in conjunction with Facilities Management (FM) and the department's lab/ facility coordinator. This position will assist with the FM updates to department's wind tunnels, which are used for course instruction and faculty/ external research. This position will work with FM electricians to this position to supplement their work. This will allow the project to be completed and set up in time for instruction in Fall 2026. They would also provide support to the department's Lab Manager in getting the spaces set up for instruction and help with tours/ simulations in the wind tunnel space.

Electrical control box sourcing and populate while consulting with Facilities Management

Design and manufacture MPS

Write software/GUI

Wind tunnel installation

Modify existing models

Write documentation

AEM Departmental Support - 10%

Help with department tours

Flight simulator demonstrations

Wind tunnel usage and pricing

Wind tunnel smoke generator setup

Qualifications Required qualifications:

BA/BS degree or a combination of related education and work experience to equal at least four years

Experience working with instructional and research labs, in particular supporting the wind tunnel positioning system.

Preferred qualifications:

BS in Aerospace Engineering or related field

Pay and Benefits Fixed Pay Rate:

$20.49 per hour
