Position Overview
The
Department of Surgery
at the
University of Minnesota Medical School
and
University of Minnesota Physicians (M Physicians)
is seeking a
full-time academic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon
to join a growing and collaborative division.
This role combines a
robust clinical practice in the Twin Cities
with meaningful
academic responsibilities , including teaching, research, and service. Academic rank (Assistant or Associate Professor) will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Practice Highlights
General Plastic Surgery
with emphasis on:
Breast Surgery
Wound Care
General Reconstruction
Primary practice locations :
M Health Fairview Clinics and Specialty Center - Maplewood
M Health Fairview St. Johns Hospital
Ambulatory Surgery Center - Maplewood
Additional surgical activity
at:
M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital
University of Minnesota Medical Center
Provide comprehensive
inpatient and outpatient care
Active role in
teaching medical students, residents, and fellows
Employment & Academic Appointment
Dually employed
by:

Full-time faculty appointment
in the:

Academic responsibilities include:
Teaching and mentorship
Scholarly activity
Service to the department, institution, and profession
Qualifications
MD or equivalent degree
Completion of an
ACGME-accredited Plastic Surgery residency and/or fellowship
Board-eligible or board-certified
in Plastic Surgery
Microsurgical training preferred
Licensed or eligible for
Minnesota Board of Medical Practice
Ability to obtain and maintain
DEA certification in Minnesota
Demonstrated excellence in:
Clinical care
Communication and collaboration
Commitment to academic surgery

Compensation & Appointment Details
Total Compensation:
$450,000 annually (full-time)
Common paymaster model aligned with
AAMC benchmarks
Time Appointment Category:
75%-100% appointment
