Description Position Title: Assistant Director, Foundation, Government & Corporate Relations (FGC)
Reports to: Vice President, Strategic Engagement & Mission
Supervises: Not Applicable
Primary function: Working with faculty and administrators to draft and edit grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and government agencies; tracking and monitoring grant projects for compliance with funder guidelines and institutional procedures; and preparing grant progress reports and other grant-related stewardship activities.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree required.
Experience: Exceptional attention to detail; demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines; excellent organizational and problem‑solving skills; strong writing and editing skills; quantitative skills; effective interpersonal skills; proficiency in a variety of software applications and online portals; knowledge of grantmaking organizations and agencies and prior experience working with grant projects is preferred.
Essential Duties
Work with faculty and administrators to comply with reporting requirements for awarded grants, including writing and editing narrative progress reports, compiling and reviewing financial reports, and ensuring that grant‑funded projects are in compliance with institutional policies and funder requirements.
Coordinate the management of grant awards, including monitoring grant activities against proposed objectives, ensuring grant expenditures are aligned with approved budgets and institutional and funder requirements, and directing stewardship activities.
Manage the acceptance and administration of grant awards, including preparing acknowledgment letters, processing grant agreements, recording reporting requirements, and maintaining accurate electronic and physical files.
Assist the Vice President and Associate Director, FGC with institutional compliance with federal grant regulations, including implementing grant policies and procedures, supervising compliance of pre‑award and post‑award requirements and monitoring federal regulations for necessary updates to institutional compliance policies.
Research foundation and government funding opportunities using a variety of electronic sources and print materials; match potential funding opportunities with College projects and programs; and disseminate information on funding opportunities to faculty and administrators.
Develop grant proposals with faculty and administrators, including providing project outlines, writing and editing project narratives, reviewing financial budgets, ensuring compliance with funder guidelines, and submitting within required deadlines.
Assist with Associate Director, FGC with outreach to faculty and administrators to promote funding opportunities and encourage grantseeking efforts.
Maintain accurate information on prospects in the Colleague database and utilize reporting functions to assist and inform grant‑seeking efforts.
Special Challenges And Environment Works under the pressure of frequent deadlines.
