Director of Enrollment – Friends School of Portland
Friends School of Portland is seeking an Enrollment Director starting on July 1, 2026. This 32‑hour per week, part‑time, year‑round position focuses on growing the school’s enrollment and ensuring a welcoming, inclusive experience for families. Position Summary
The Enrollment Director manages and oversees all aspects of admissions as a member of a dynamic administrative team and faculty community. The candidate will have enthusiasm for progressive and whole‑child education, a commitment to furthering the school’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging goals, and will convey this enthusiasm to the greater community and prospective families. The role balances multiple priorities, sets and meets deadlines, and involves extensive social interactions. Key Responsibilities
Recruitment and Outreach
Serve as the welcoming public face for prospective families; lead campus tours, shadow days, and family conversations Mobilize and coach parent ambassadors; design referral and word‑of‑mouth initiatives Organize and lead admission and retention events (both in‑person and virtual)
Admissions Operations
Oversee the full admissions process – leading families from inquiry through enrollment and onboarding Coordinate admissions assessments with learning strategist and grade‑level teams Communicate admissions decisions with professionalism and care Establish the admissions and enrollment calendar, including application timeline and retention events Support financial aid and admissions committees; ensure transparent, timely processes
Retention and Family Experience
Co‑lead re‑enrollment planning and timelines Monitor attrition risk and initiate proactive outreach Partner with Director of Studies and Student Support to address transition points Track parent feedback
Data Reporting and Systems
Keep statistics/records on all admissions/enrollment activities to analyze shifts in interest Manage applications and enrollment through FACTS Student Information System Contribute to monthly board reports with actionable insights on pipeline health Maintain admissions dashboard with response times and follow‑ups
Marketing and Communication
Collaborate with Development Director on communications and marketing related to enrollment, recruitment, and retention Contribute to storytelling that reflects Friends School’s mission Craft regular admissions newsletters and revise admissions materials Coordinate with Development Director for all‑school, all‑community newsletters, social media, and wider marketing strategies Continue DEIB work to understand and draw conclusions on how FSP can best support and retain families from diverse backgrounds
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
