Compensation and Benefits Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $16,250 – $18,167 per month. Full CSU Classification Salary Range: $10,106 – $32,441 per month. Salary is competitive and negotiable depending on qualifications. This is a CSU Management Personnel Plan (MPP) position.

All Fresno State employees are eligible for the CSU system benefit package, which includes medical, dental, and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 15 paid holidays a year. Eligible employees may also participate in the fee waiver education program.

Job Summary Reporting to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean serves as the chief administrative and academic officer for the Kremen School of Education & Human Development. The Dean provides leadership to 63 full‑time tenured/tenure‑track faculty, 189 temporary faculty, and 21 staff. The Kremen School enrolls more than 2,400 students across undergraduate, credential, graduate, and doctoral programs and prepares more P‑12 school teachers than any other public university in California.

The Dean will develop and articulate a compelling vision and strategy, build and refine academic program offerings, assess operational structures and procedures, recruit and retain exceptional faculty and staff, nurture external relationships, enforce the Academic Policy Manual, and manage the school’s resources effectively.

Commitment to advancing equity and justice is essential. Successful candidates should demonstrate leadership experience in education or counseling, significant accreditation experience, and an earned doctorate with strong scholarly credentials sufficient for a tenured full‑professor appointment.

Education and Experience

Doctoral degree or equivalent.

Record of professional accomplishment sufficient for appointment as a tenured full professor at California State University, Fresno.

Minimum three (3) years of leadership experience at the department chair, director, associate dean, or dean level.

Experience managing and overseeing a budget.
