Sales Account Manager – Foodservice and Restaurants Base pay range: $100,000.00/yr – $175,000.00/yr

Position Description Our client, a 120-year-old Chicago‑based foodservice company, is seeking a Sales Account Manager. The role focuses on managing a portfolio of assigned accounts and developing new business within targeted restaurant chain accounts, foodservice distribution, and ingredient/industrial opportunities. The candidate will protect and strengthen long‑term customer relationships, utilizing a solution‑oriented approach and best‑in‑class sales practices to create value for both the client and the company.

Primary Responsibilities Commercial Leadership

Develop a holistic sales plan to consistently deliver volume and profit margin targets, and achieve annual KPI objectives.

Drive growth of customer and channel profitability, creating action plans to deliver monthly and annual KPIs.

Provide fact‑based and qualitative updates to leadership on performance and key customer initiatives.

Leverage digital tools and CRM for customer intelligence, deepening insight and targeting.

Develop new business within prioritized market segments and track new customer opportunities.

Own accurate demand forecasting for assigned customers.

Category & Customer Development

Enhance the Customer Value Proposition and deliver data‑driven strategies.

Cultivate relationships with existing clients and develop new customers from leads.

Monitor pipeline development in defined focus areas.

Create robust account plans outlining objectives and strategic alignment.

Serve as conduit for marketplace insights to capitalize on opportunities.

Partner with Customer Service & Solutions to deliver best‑in‑class service levels and maximize revenue.

Revenue Management Excellence

Achieve specific sales goals for volume and margin.

Collaborate with Finance to understand market impacts on pricing.

Negotiate pricing using market intelligence within an established framework.

Drive revenue growth through upselling, cross‑selling, and product mix decisions.

Manage contract renewals and guide RFP/negotiation strategies.

Contribute to a Winning Culture

Bring enterprise resources to support customer outcomes.

Embody innovation and continuous improvement in processes.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of sales or business development experience (or equivalent).

Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Approximately 20% travel, or as needed.

Availability for off‑hours and weekend work as required.
