HBITS 07-14513 Software Analyst - Senior

All OMH Legacy Risk Remediation Projects, including but not limited to: OMH Authorization Solution (OAS) and other OMH projects as needed. This role supports the New York State Office of Mental Health’s mission to rewrite legacy applications built on aging infrastructure and antiquated technologies into new and supported coding platforms. Responsibilities include building and automating test cases based on system requirements, triaging and recording defects, ensuring compliance with agency, state, and federal regulation, and assisting with help document development for the end user. Day-to-Day Tasks

Develop and maintain automated regression tests using UFT and Selenium WebDriver with Java and .NET Core for multiple applications using frameworks such as Open2Test, keyword-driven on various browsers. Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and ad‑hoc testing manually and/or using automation tools. Design, develop and execute the entire QA process, including documentation of test plans, test cases and test scripts for various web, desktop, and mobile applications. Provide application support, architecture diagrams and/or technical documentation as needed. Analyze business needs and create user acceptance tests and appropriate documentation. Participate in multi‑agency technical meetings and work sessions with stakeholders, business analysts, technical architects and developers. Report status of current tasks and outstanding issues to supervisor; participate in daily scrum meetings to support agile methodology for system development, defect triage and enhancement, and maintain defect logs. Mandatory Qualification

Active in studying software application domain, preparing software requirements, and specification documents. Effectively liaises between software users and developers, conveying user demands to developers. Possesses working knowledge of software technology, computer programming experience/expertise; general business knowledge; problem‑solving and reduction skills; interpersonal relationship skills; flexibility and adaptability. Senior Requirements

60–84 months of experience, capable of working independently without assistance and providing guidance to others; may hold advanced education. Requested Qualifications

72 months experience creating, maintaining, and running regression/automation tests with UFT and Selenium WebDriver on .NET Core 2.0 or Java across various browsers. 72 months experience creating, maintaining, and running performance and ADA compliance testing using tools such as LoadRunner, JAWS, WAVE or NVDA. 72 months experience with QA and usability testing and analysis, using Jira to manage and maintain test cases, run tests, and track defects. 72 months experience coordinating, tracking, and analyzing testing activities with business analysts and subject matter experts, using defect management tools to identify, document, track, and communicate problems to technical staff. 60 months experience creating test documents for user acceptance testing and performing functional and UAT testing. 36 months experience using TFS, GitLab. 24 months experience testing applications containing Health Care data protected under HIPAA PHI.
