Workday Finance Implementation Team Lead – FDM
Join Inside Higher Ed as the Workday Finance Implementation Team Lead for the Financial Data Model (FDM) within Workday. This full‑time role is based on the Main Campus in Gainesville, FL.
Job Responsibilities The FDM Finance Implementation Team Lead leads the implementation and configuration of the FDM in Workday, conducting working sessions with stakeholders to gather, understand, and analyze business needs and reporting requirements. Key duties include:
Configuring FDM values and hierarchies in Workday and collaborating with stakeholders to translate legacy data and reporting requirements into the FDM structure.
Reviewing and unit testing FDM‑related business processes, reports, and security roles to ensure accuracy and alignment with business requirements.
Developing and executing FDM‑related test scenarios, identifying defects, and collaborating with the implementation partner to remediate issues and retest functionality.
Facilitating the mapping of the legacy chart of accounts to the future state FDM structure and maintaining FDM mapping data using configuration tools.
Assessing FDM data quality, supporting data cleanup, and validating accurate data conversion.
Communicating team status to project leadership, supporting cut‑over planning, stakeholder communications, and supporting FDM governance process development.
Assisting the Change Management team in developing end‑user training materials and job aids.
Qualifications
Master's degree in an appropriate field with four years of experience, or bachelor's degree with six years of experience, or equivalent combination.
Experience implementing and configuring accounting and/or business systems.
Experience using or configuring a leading ERP system such as PeopleSoft, Oracle, or Workday.
Proven ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly.
Strong data literacy, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including training facilitation experience.
Compensation Expected Salary: $85,000 – $100,000 per year.
