Position Overview As an Architectural Graphic Designer at Identity Architects, you will support the Marketing Director of a full‑service architectural firm. This role is ideal for a design professional with an AEC background who can translate architectural concepts into compelling visual and marketing materials. The successful candidate will combine architectural understanding with strong graphic design skills to support branding, proposals, presentations, and firm‑wide marketing initiatives, assist with digital content, and contribute to strengthening our brand visibility.
Qualifications
Graphic Design Experience & Skills
Minimum 3 years of professional graphic design experience in the AEC industry
Composition and layout, typography and font selection, visual storytelling and presentations
Elements of graphic design – layout, alignment, typography, size & scale, space, value, form, texture, image and graphics, balance, contrast
Consistency of brand standards applied across designs; ensure consistency of our firm’s visual identity
Adobe Photoshop – image editing and graphic composition (work samples required)
Adobe Illustrator – vector graphics, diagrams, and icons (work samples required)
Adobe Acrobat – document preparation and PDF editing
Minimum 3 years of experience within the AEC industry; background in architectural design, preferably schematic design; experience with exterior and/or interior architectural projects; ability to read, interpret, and visually communicate architectural drawings and concepts
Architectural Software Skills
SketchUp – working knowledge for 3D modeling and schematic visuals (samples required)
AutoCAD – working knowledge for drawing review and graphic extraction; CAD assessment will be part of the hiring process
Revit experience (not required); ability to open models and extract PDFs is a plus; training can be provided
Experience with AI‑driven graphic tools or plug‑ins (examples encouraged); proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud
Signage and wayfinding experience, particularly related to typography and fonts; experience with additional design or production software used in architectural marketing environments
Graphic design work (Photoshop, Illustrator); architectural or AEC‑related graphics (SketchUp, AutoCAD outputs)
Key Responsibilities
Develop high‑quality graphic and visual materials for marketing deliverables, including proposals, presentations, and branded content, translating architectural concepts into compelling visuals.
Collaborate closely with the Marketing Director to support firm‑wide marketing initiatives and ensure all materials align with brand standards and messaging.
Interpret architectural drawings, schematics, and 3D models to create accurate diagrams, renderings, and graphic representations for marketing use.
Produce and refine presentation layouts with strong attention to composition, typography, and visual hierarchy using Adobe Creative Cloud tools.
Coordinate with architects and design teams to gather technical content, apply markups, and incorporate feedback efficiently into marketing materials.
Prepare, edit, and manage drawing excerpts, graphics, and PDFs from AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other architectural software for marketing and proposal purposes.
Maintain organized graphic assets and templates while supporting continuous improvement through new tools, workflows, and emerging graphic or AI‑driven design technologies.
Excellent communication skills – writing and speaking.
