We’re seeking a skilled
Network Engineer
to join our dynamic team in
Annapolis Junction, MD .
In this role, you’ll play a critical part in supporting and evolving our enterprise network infrastructure. You’ll be responsible for designing and implementing system-level network architectures, enforcing security boundaries, and supporting datacenter virtualization. This position requires deep expertise in CAN/MAN/LAN environments, packet capture and analysis tools, and a strong command of the TCP/IP protocol stack, routing and switching protocols, stateful firewalls, and L3/L4 access control mechanisms.
Responsibilities
Cisco IOS, CatOS, NxOS, filter and access control, Ciscoworks, TACACS+, ASA, FWSM, HP Openview, Cisco routers, Cisco Switches, F5/Cisco load balancers, Infiniband, Juniper, FiberChannel (FC) SAN, and VPN (IPSEC)
Physical installation and configuration and troubleshooting of network routers, switches, load balancers and security devices.
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP protocol stack and routing and switching protocols.
Strong working knowledge of L2/L3 protocols.
Strong working knowledge of stateful firewalls, and L3 access controls.
Working knowledge of Atlassian Tool Suite.
Able to support on‑call requirements.
Able to work in live call environment and utilize remedy and/or other ticketing system to track tasking.
Virtualization products; VMWare and Solaris containers.
Requirements
At least five (5) years of experience as a NE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
A Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional NE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree for a total of 10 years experience.
Must have datacenter network design and architecture experience to include installation and configuration of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and IPSEC virtual private networks.
Desired Experience
A strong understanding of High Performance Computing (HPC) environments.
Hands‑on experience with Infiniband and low‑latency interconnects in HPC clusters
Familiarity with RDMA, QoS tuning, and network fabric optimization for compute‑intensive workloads
Working knowledge of FiberChannel (FC) SAN, iSCSI, and data throughput tuning
Experience integrating storage networks with HPC compute nodes
Security Clearance
A current government clearance, background investigation, and polygraph are required.
