Description

The Project Engineer position provides engineering solutions directed towards optimizing design of future pipelines and executing capital projects. Must be a highly motivated self-starter with a demonstrated track record of superior project engineering and organizational skills.

Qualifications Duties/Responsibilities:

Ensures that projects are designed and constructed in accordance with the company's engineering guidelines and specifications, industry codes and standards, and regulatory agency requirements to meet necessary functionality and performance requirements.

Closely monitor operational and financial performance of Company gas plants, compression, pipelines and other facilities and where possible identify and implement projects to improve performance.

Work closely with the construction team to design and construct gathering/compression to support the drilling development programs.

Assist with the contracting and procurement process by which the Company engages contractors to design and construct facilities and infrastructure projects.

Arrange and manage effective and adequate supervision of all stages of the permitting, design, construction and commissioning of facilities and infrastructure projects within the Company.

Support the regulatory team during land use and government hearings.

Ensure full and effective implementation of Company HSE policy by Company’s own staff and by all contractors engaged in facilities and infrastructure design and construction work.

Work closely with the EH&S staff to ensure compliance with all regulations and permits and assist with technical input to permit submittals and compliance with regulatory.

Ensure compliance with all DOT 192 regulations.

Provide a detailed design and construction schedule for each project that will ensure each project is completed on time and on budget.

Plan and implement project budgets.

To communicate with Operations Department, Commercial Department, Regulatory Department and Accounting Department as required to coordinate facilities projects with other appropriate company staff.

Working with BD team to scope future projects, including pipeline routing, sizing, and cost estimates.

Prepares appropriate documentation (such as Authorization For Expenditure documentation, cost estimates, and construction turnover packages) for assigned projects.

Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent communication and collaborative skills.

Excellent Organizational skills.

Detail oriented.

Proficient in process simulation software such as HYSYS, SYNERGI, and/or other engineering programs.

Proficient in design and operation of complex gas pipeline systems.

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Education and Experience:

BS Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Petroleum Engineering.

Minimum 5 years of professional experience in oil & gas or similar process industry.

Track record of new project development, economic evaluation, and execution of new projects.

Experience in a variety of midstream oil and gas facilities engineering areas including gas plants, pipeline and rotating equipment (compression).

Proficiency with OSHA 1910 Process Safety Management programs.

Experience with DOT pipeline regulation compliance and program administration.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
