Dining Services Associate – Commonwealth Senior Living
Pay range: $14.00/hr – $15.00/hr (Base pay). Part‑time & PRN available; schedule varies.
The Dining Services Associate assists the Dining Services Director in delivering the signature dining services program to residents. The primary goal is to provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for all residents while demonstrating Commonwealth Senior Living core values.
Qualifications
Certification in the Food Handlers Course or equivalent.
Previous experience in the food service industry.
Ability to read and write English.
Willingness and ability to learn new tasks.
Availability to work varied shifts and weekends.
Ability to lift heavy objects; stand and walk short distances throughout the day; tolerate heat from the kitchen.
Must be free of communicable diseases.
Primary Responsibilities
Prepare and serve nutritious meals to residents in a safe, sanitary manner in accordance with Public Health Regulations and the Sanitation Code.
Be familiar with Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Point {HACCP} and Workplace Hazardous Material Information System {WHMIS}.
Maintain a clean, safe working environment and practice safe hand‑washing procedures and routine cleaning.
Serve attractive, nutritious meals in a pleasant, respectful manner, mindful of residents’ special needs.
Use and maintain kitchen equipment safely, and clean, sanitize, and maintain equipment as outlined in cleaning schedules.
Set tables, pour beverages, and clear and clean dishes each day.
Store received stock following procedures.
Follow cleaning procedures when mechanical equipment is not available (e.g., power failure).
Perform other duties as directed by the Dining Services Director.
