What You Will Do

AWW (weekend) Shift Opportunity: Friday–Sunday 3–12 hour shifts, 5:00 am–5:30 pm (work 36 hours, get paid for 40)

Designed for individuals with little or no machining or grinding background to become a Certified Operator at Pratt & Whitney.

Attend a 3‑week training program followed by 4–8 weeks of on‑the‑job training.

Set up and operate NC milling/grinding machines, vertical turret lathes or VTC’s for production operations on various weldments and assemblies.

Work from operation sheets, part travelers, BOROPS, and oral instruction to set up equipment for grinding, turning, facing, boring, and/or chamfering operations.

Verify conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments.

Obtain operator Certification to accept/reject parts.

Maintain machines by performing required total preventive maintenance (TPM).

Collaborate with engineers, quality assurance, programmers and other production personnel to resolve machining problems and assist in part process development.

Must read, write, speak, and understand English.

Qualifications You Must Have

High School diploma or GED.

U.S. citizenship required.

Qualifications We Prefer

1+ years of manufacturing, automotive or related trade experience.

Ability to make computations involving decimals and fractions.

Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
