Qualifications
Current Michigan teaching certification, preferably in Elementary Education
Must hold or have the ability to obtain Michigan Administrator Certification
Minimum of three (3) years of successful administrative experience and/or extensive teacher leadership experience
Minimum level of education is a Master’s degree
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Ability to coach and grow the capacity of staff members
Extensive understanding of best instructional practices for a variety of learners
Facilitation skills to lead a variety of teams and committees to reach an intended outcome
Innovative in meeting a wide variety of student needs, academically, behaviorally, socially, and emotionally
Understanding and experience utilizing the Multi-Tiered System of Support framework
Ability to influence and lead a positive school culture and climate that embraces diversity and promotes inclusive practices
Duties and Responsibilities
Instructional leadership that models and articulates high expectations
Build positive collaborative relationships with all stakeholders
Lead and monitor the implementation of the school’s Continuous Improvement Plan
Utilize the MTSS framework to positively impact student outcomes
Analyze, monitor, and lead the dissemination of a variety of district, school, grade level, and individual student data to increase and promote student achievement
Coordinate and/or lead staff professional learning
Knowledge of and commitment to the use of Restorative Practices
Commitment to social-emotional learning practices to ensure students are best prepared for learning
Supervise, evaluate, and support the growth of teachers and support staff
Supervise and evaluate the Dean of Students
Supervise after-school student activities
Manage and monitor the school budget
Create, monitor, and maximize the Title I grant
Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and/or their designee
