Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Maintenance, Aviation Technology, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Technical Education, or a closely related field Holds a current FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe or Powerplant rating At least three years of relevant industry experience Demonstrated competency in experience in the subject matter Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree and/or prior teaching experience in an FAA Part 147 AMTS Teaching experience in a community or technical college or in a Military or industry technical training program Teaching related technical subjects, labs, or workshops; curriculum development Knowledge of adult learning principles and competency-based instruction. Holding a current FAA Mechanic Certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant ratings. Familiarity with emerging technologies such as composite materials, unmanned systems, or advanced avionics. Appointment level to any faculty position is dependent upon qualifications and experience. Salary:

Nine-month position. Competitive salary depending on experience. The College also provides a comprehensive benefits package. Tenure and Promotion:

Tenure and promotion are awarded based on a review by a college-wide committee of the candidate’s contributions to service, pedagogy and scholarship. Key Responsibilities:

Teaches assigned courses. Performs student assessment , lab supervision, and monitors all curriculum delivery. Leads curriculum development, course reports, and course materials selection. Provides overall leadership and ensures regulatory compliance with 14CFR Part 147. Uses appropriate instructional technology methods when presenting course content. Provides written course syllabus which includes classroom policies, procedures, grading, and learning outcomes. Uses appropriate and up-to-date course materials, including learning objectives, texts, and supplementary teaching materials. Applies classroom management strategies in face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online format. Submits grades or other course assessment reports in a timely manner. Manages routine classroom responsibilities in a professional manner. Oversees staffing, operations, curriculum, facilities, and quality assurance. Supervises all instructional staff. Supervises the lab manager. Supervises the administrative assistant. Provide primary instruction across General, Airframe and Powerplant. Professional Development:

Participates in activities that advance professional competencies and teaching skills. Engages in activities that advance the teaching discipline or profession. Maintains or acquires appropriate or required certifications, licensure, or other professional credentials. College Responsibilities and Service:

Keeps scheduled office hours as required by the respective load formula for the purpose of academic advising. Records student attendance as necessary. Attends department, division, and college-wide academic functions. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Must possess effective communication skills, be proficient with the use of computers, use of Office 365, and virtual communication software. Knowledge of areas of discipline to be taught. Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with students, colleagues and supervisors.
