Position Summary Walmart is expanding its workforce and looking for a General Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our local and regional team. In this role you will execute routine maintenance tasks to uphold the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of Walmart Stores, equipment, or fixtures. Operating under the supervision of the local General Maintenance Manager, you will adhere to established maintenance schedules and guidelines, conducting inspections, cleaning, and repairs to maintain the highest standards. Key Responsibilities
Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple craft skills (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment) with hand and power tools.
Utilize the work order management system to receive and document reactive repair work orders for stores and store associates.
Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
Position Requirements
18 years or older.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Can lift up to 50 lbs. at a time and move up and down ladders frequently.
Comfortable working at heights frequently and able to sit or stand for long periods.
Able to work in various temperatures.
Hold a valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
Vocational or Technical certification and 1 year experience, or 2 years total work experience, in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related trade.
Minimum Qualifications Vocational or Technical certification and 3 years of experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related trade; or 5 years of experience in one of the same trades.
Preferred Qualifications Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical trade program, license in related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located, and intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software.
