Survey Instrument Operator
Location:
Atlanta, GA
Pay Base rate: $16.00/hr - $22.00/hr
Salary: Based on experience – discussed with manager during interview.
Responsibilities
Collect data using company standards for descriptions and line coding.
Assist Party Chief in running the field operations.
Operate and maintain various surveying instruments—transits, levels, theodolite, and electronic distance measuring equipment—to measure and verify elevations, angles, and distances.
Coordinate with office staff and clients as required.
Adhere to local, state, and federal survey regulations as well as Accura Engineering procedures.
Monitor accurate completion of daily timesheets, reports, and vehicle inspections.
Perform mathematical calculations to establish and locate reference points.
Interpret maps, plats, blueprints, and specifications.
Clean, check, and adjust survey instruments to assure accuracy of measurements.
Oversee surveying activities in the absence of the Survey Party Chief.
Perform related work as required.
Education & Experience
High School Diploma/GED
1+ years of utilizing data collectors, robotic and non-robotic total stations, and GPS equipment.
1+ years of experience in land surveying.
Experience with GDOT.
Valid driver’s license and insurable status.
Willingness and ability to travel as required for the role.
Willingness to train the right candidate without the above noted experience.
Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Physical Requirements
Physically mobile on construction sites and field assignments.
Ability to carry required instruments and equipment.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
Exposure to variable climate and environmental conditions, including extreme cold and heat.
