Material Handler: Plate 3rd Shift
Responsible for movement of raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the facility using a forklift truck. May also utilize cranes, hoists, hand trucks, and other moving equipment to meet job requirements. Performs work under direct supervision. Handles basic issues and problems.
Responsibilities
Accurately removes and stocks product, customer’s product, and various supplies according to inventory plan.
Accurately selects product to fill customer orders and package them properly.
Loads and unload trucks and verifies that correct items are loaded and unloaded.
Picking, processing and packing orders, also may be required to cut orders on Kaltenbach saw.
Completes cycle counts.
Identifies, holds and segregates defective material.
Completes paperwork per work instructions, when required.
Performs general clean up.
Inspects forklift at the beginning of every shift; report issues to immediate supervisor or other designated personnel.
Participates, supports and complies with all health, safety, ISO and 6S initiatives and requirements.
Assists in any other duties to support the operation, as requested by supervisor or team lead.
Works directly on the warehouse floor on or around heavy machinery.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements
High school diploma/GED
Ability to read and write English (in Quebec, must read and write French)
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. for 100 feet
Ability to perform basic math skills
Previous forklift experience
Must be able to sit for long periods of time and perform bending, twisting, squatting, reaching and grasping motions
Safety mindset
Preferred Requirements
Use of handheld measuring tools
Basic computer skills and knowledge, such as with database programs and Microsoft Office programs.
