Captain of Support Services
Primary Purpose Of Position
Provides executive command and managerial law enforcement work at a university campus or other state facility. Reports to the Deputy Chief of Police.
Key Duties
Develop policies and procedures.
Plan and organize operations.
Manage budget development and allocate resources.
Maintain relationships with the community, campus stakeholders, media outlets, and other local law enforcement agencies.
Minimum Requirements
At least a bachelor’s degree (or higher) and eight years of sworn law enforcement officer experience, or an associate degree with ten years of experience.
At least four years of supervisory experience equivalent to a supervisory role.
Certification as a Law Enforcement Officer in accordance with the North Carolina Criminal Justice Training and Standards Commission.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in university or higher‑education campus policing.
Advanced training in community policing and crime prevention.

$95,000 to $112,227 (commensurate with education and experience).
