Position offered by Kinder Morgan, Inc., a leading energy infrastructure company operating roughly 79,000 miles of pipelines and 139 terminals. The role is located at the KinderHawk facility, 9580 Saint Vincent Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71106.
Primary Purpose Under close supervision, performs unskilled maintenance and/or construction of pipeline, right‑of‑way and grounds, and operates and monitors station/terminal equipment. Requires more than three years of Natural Gas Gathering Pipeline and Facility operational experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

May perform maintenance and/or construction of the pipeline, the right of way and ground around pipeline or other facilities.
The system operator is trained in operating and or monitoring the equipment through manipulation of terminal/station central control panels to control movement of product into, out of and through terminals.
Responsible for the operation of natural gas pipelines including operations of gas dehydration, compression and treating facilities.
Operating internal combustion engines to transmit compress or recover gases, such as natural gas in various processes.
Performing minor repairs on equipment, according to type of gas compressed or recovered.
Operating equipment to control transmission of natural gas through pipelines.
Moving controls and turns valves to start compressor engines, pumps and auxiliary equipment.
Observing operation of equipment to detect malfunctions.
Monitoring meters, gauges and recoding instrument charts to ensure specified temperature, pressure and flow of gas through system.
Conducting chemical tests to evaluate quality of gas.
Recording instrument readings and operational changes in operating log.
Performing minor repairs on equipment using hand tools.
Operating or tend equipment to purify gas.
Operating and monitoring the related activities includes safely driving to field location and sites, and is essential to the role.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Position Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience and Specific Knowledge
Capable of climbing stairs, ladders and working various equipment.
Basic computer skills. Experience with AMINE treatment, gas processing or glycol treatment required.
A basic understanding of pipeline and compressor stations layout, operations, machines and maintenance is preferred.
Experience in operations of natural gas pipelines including operations of gas dehydration, compression and treating facilities.
Proactive individual with excellent interpersonal and problem‑solving skills.
A safe driving record, along with the ability to safely operate heavy machinery, vehicles, or equipment as needed is required.
Ability to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s) and lead personnel, focus attention on details, follow work rules, and adhere to established work schedules.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
A satisfactory driving record as determined by the Company and a current, valid State driver’s license are required.

Working Conditions
May work in low‑lit areas.
Must be able to withstand extreme weather conditions.
Must be able to frequently climb to and work from elevated platforms, ladders, and walkways, etc.
Depending upon the location and workload, travel will be required.
Must be able to report to the Compressor Station within 1 hour of a call‑out.
Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge (above the minimum requirements; not required, but advantageous in this position)
Three or more years of experience Natural Gas Gathering Pipeline and Facility operational experience.
Previous oilfield and lease operator or pumper experience in working at an E&P Operating company.
