The Material Handler job is to ensure that production lines and/or areas have the necessary parts, materials, equipment and supplies to build product when needed with zero down time and meet the company’s goals of safety, quality, productivity, and delivery. The Material Handler works in multiple capacities including packaging, pulling material, and palletizing. Cross training in all areas is a requirement to help the Material department maintain flexibility. This role may include Shipping and Receiving duties as needed. This position reports to the Production Supervisor and, in the absence of the Production Supervisor, reports to the Plant Manager.
Starting Monday‑Friday 8:00‑16:00, overtime and weekends as needed. Then the site will transition to 12‑hour shifts on a 2‑2‑3 schedule.
Essential Accountabilities
Perform all work in accordance with the highest standards of SKNA‑Vitop safety policies, ensure all safety policies and processes are enforced.
Successfully complete all essential training.
Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, stand‑up lifts, tuggers, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to pick, move, stock and/or reorganize materials.
Forklift sign‑on/inspection daily.
Maintain assembly hoppers and levels of flobin, scanning labels with RF scanner as needed.
Maintain raw material hoppers scanning with RF scanner.
Maintain stock of boxes/pads/empty flobins/pallets/scrap -gaylords for Injection Molding, Assembly, and Quality Departments.
Maintain injection molding colorant/slip/masterbatch storage bins (record #bags and batch number in scanner).
Check injection molding, assembly, and Quality for finished goods area for pallets that need to be wrapped.
Maintain raw materials, WIP, and box machine areas clean and tidy.
Loads, unloads incoming and outbound trucks, as needed, or required.
Store any completed flobins/WIP pallets in their designated areas by FIFO.
Move lanes forward for WIP components to continue keeping work area nice and organized.
Operate Box Machine and have 6‑8 pallets of boxes ready for use in plant.
Prepares, submits, and delivers area reports as required.
Operate, set up, collect and/or verify data from equipment.
Ensures ALL plastic bags are wiped and cleaned prior to emptying into hoppers.
Fills out and maintains resin traceability log sheet for quality.
Operate label printer.
Back up other team members, when necessary, regardless of department and as assigned by the Supervisor.
Work with all departments to meet daily tasks.
Other duties as assigned.
Education / Qualification / Experience
High school education or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Basic reading and math.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience handling materials.
Forklift experience (Stand up/Sit down).
Experience using wrapping machine.
Ability to conduct physical inventory/cycle counting.
Knowledge of Safety ,5S, LEAN /TPS Toyota Production System a plus.
Experience with basic hand tools required.
Ability to work in a team environment; overtime and/or weekends and to rotate jobs or shifts as needed.
Basic working knowledge of computer software, email, excel, and internet.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Knowledge
Knowledge of safety practices and expectations.
Knowledge of quality practices and expectations, and respect for product.
Ability to effectively communicate.
Ability to successfully pass written and driving forklift testing to become a certified forklift driver.
Knowledge of FIFO and Kanban processes.

Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift and stack objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and frequently exert 50 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects.
Work involves frequent periods of standing and walking, climbing ladders, staircases, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting/turning, and reaching, bending at the waist. Indoor/out-door work environment with exposure to weather extremes.
Must be able to perceive the nature of sound, utilize near and far vision, depth perception, provide oral information, and possess the manual dexterity to handle and work with various materials and objects which are essential aspects of this position.
The noise level in the work environment is dependent on area of the plant.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (eye protection, ear protection, hand protection and safety shoes) is required for specific tasks and/or area of the plant worked in.

Ensure that safety and health concerns are given primary consideration in all activities.
