Production Maintenance Technician – Overnight
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician III to work the 3rd Shift at a high‑volume plastics manufacturing facility in Mebane, North Carolina. The candidate will provide advanced preventive and corrective maintenance for molding, extrusion, and automation equipment, as well as lead automation, repair, and upgrade projects.

Experience Required 5–10 years
Compensation USD 62,000 – 83,000 plus a $1.50/hour shift differential for 3rd shift.
Eligibility US citizen or green‑card holder
Key Responsibilities
Lead complex preventive and corrective maintenance on molding, extrusion, and automation equipment.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system issues.
Install, modify, and verify proper function of machines, robots, and automated systems.
Fabricate and repair machine components using mills, lathes, grinders, welders, and cutting torches.
Perform welding and metal fabrication (MIG, TIG, stick, oxy/acetylene, plasma).
Interpret and update blueprints, ladder logic, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
Utilize PLCs and servo/drive systems for troubleshooting and control logic verification.
Layout, assemble, and maintain pipe systems, valves, and pneumatic/hydraulic circuits.
Initiate and lead machine modification or improvement projects to increase reliability and output.
Serve as a mentor for Level I and II Maintenance Technicians.
Must‑Have Qualifications
Two‑ or four‑year technical degree/certificate or 10–15 years of equivalent hands‑on experience.
8–10 years of preventive and corrective maintenance in at least one of the following: Injection, Compression, Composite, or Roto‑Molding.
Advanced ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic schematics.
Strength in diagnosing and repairing complex automation and machine control systems.
Proficiency in PLC logic troubleshooting, robotics interfacing, and drive system repairs.
Skilled in fabrication, machining, and welding for part modification or repair.
Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
Proven record of reliability, job stability, and leadership in maintenance roles.
Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications
Hands‑on experience with Haitian, JSW injection molding machines, Husky hydraulic injection systems, blow molding, Uniloy Structural Web, Star, Yushin robots, Ferry rotational molding, and other manufacturing equipment.
Certification in forklift, scissor lift, or boom lift operation.
Strong computer skills (Excel, Outlook, CMMS, maintenance tracking systems).
Background in Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and TPM practices.
Ability to mentor and lead cross‑functional maintenance improvement projects.
Interview & Work Schedule
Shift: 3rd shift, 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM, Monday – Friday.
Shift differential: +$1.50/hour.
Interview Process: 1 mandatory on‑site round.
Preferred candidate location: North Carolina (Mebane, Greensboro, Raleigh‑Durham).
