EDM Operator (Wire Electrical Discharge Machine) Location
Burbank, CA Key Responsibilities
Program, set up, and operate Wire Electrical Discharge Machines (Sodick Wire and Sinker machines – Charmilles Form 20 & Eleroda Dis). Enter programs and all necessary parameters into machine control. Inspect and measure finished parts to determine conformance to specifications using measuring instruments (gauges, micrometers, indicators). Read and interpret blueprints, understand tolerances, surface finishes, and .0002 tolerances. Collect SPC data to maintain process control. Mount and position fixtures or vise on the machine for optimal wiring. Activate machine control and offsets to wire parts to final dimensions according to specifications. Complete the operation within time specifications by signing off on the router and forwarding to the next work center. Perform routine machine maintenance. Perform any other task assigned by supervisor or management. Qualifications
3+ years experience as an Electrical Discharge Machine Operator. Experience setting up and operating Wire EDM machine (Sodick). Proficient in the use of precision measuring equipment (calipers, etc.). Ability to read and understand blueprints and specifications. Able to run multiple machines simultaneously. Ability to read and comprehend moderately complex instructions, short correspondence, and memos. High School diploma or equivalent or vocational school degree or EDM training. Nice to Have Skills & Experience
