General Job Description Dogwood Industries is seeking a Shipping Material Handler at our Factory in Everett, WA. The core mission of the Shipping Material Handler is to facilitate the efficient and accurate shipping of finished product. The Shipping Material Handler is an integral part of the production team and is required to have comprehensive knowledge about the material and understand the manufacturing workflow. The employee will be hands‑on in the preparation, packaging and load‑out of completed product.
Duties & Responsibilities
Ensures the readiness of outgoing product through execution of prep‑to‑ship procedures
Manages change when unforeseen conditions require adjustments to work plan and schedule
Meets deadlines and completes projects on time
Is skilled in documenting, tracking and reporting
Maintains safe, clean and orderly work environment
Accurately follows material‑control procedures
Requirements
Comfortable working in an industrial manufacturing environment
Strong organization skills and the ability to track, retain and integrate information
Ability to confidently interface with all levels of the company organization
Ability to meet critical deadlines and schedules
Fluent in the use of Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe
Excellent written communications, using correct grammar and spelling
Qualifications
2+ years of experience operating a forklift
Previous construction, warehouse, or manufacturing experience
Previous shipping and/or receiving experience is a plus
Physical Requirements/Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in the upper and lower body, be able to reach overhead, work in various positions—including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting—use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance for extended periods of time. The employee must be able to lift, pull and push material and equipment to complete assigned job tasks. The employee may need to lift 50 pounds of weight throughout the assigned workday if required. The employee will be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors. This position requires physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities in a primarily production environment. The work environment characteristics here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
Compensation $25.00 - $32.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
