$200.00/hr - $200.00/hr O'Neal Steel has an opening for a 3rd shift Loader at our Nashville, TN facility. The Loader will load and unload material within a warehouse, utilizing hand trucks, forklifts, overhead cranes, conveyors, spotter trucks and trailers or other handling equipment to move material to and from trucks or trains and within the storage facility. Has knowledge of commonly used practices, and procedures. Relies on instructions and pre‑established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Responsibilities
Operate a wide variety of material handling equipment including, but not limited to, overhead crane (95%), stacker crane, forklift, side loader, yard dog, etc. Apply critical thinking skills for planning and problem‑solving. Safely load multi‑stop loads for customer delivery. Understand load balancing to meet DOT weight regulations for legal and over‑dimensional loads. Verify the accuracy of material, quantity, packaging and other special instructions for each order shipped. Perform loading duties 70% of the time or greater. Use a variety of hand tools including, but not limited to, grinder, bander, drill, hammer, pliers, screwdriver, wrench, etc. Produce high‑quality work for all internal and external customers. Learn and retain a large range of product knowledge, standard handling and rigging procedures across all products. Accurately read a tape measure. Maintain a safe and organized work area. Work in accordance with established safety procedures. Must be able to work 3rd Shift – Sunday‑Thursday, 10 pm‑6 am. Overtime will be required as needed. Requirements
