Job Summary
The Senior Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the supply of materials and components required for manufacturing. This role ensures the timely procurement of quality materials at competitive costs while maintaining strong supplier relationships and optimizing inventory levels. The Senior Buyer will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including engineering, production, and quality, to drive cost savings and improve supplier performance. Responsibilities
Strategically source and manage suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance. Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliability and continuous improvement. Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms to achieve cost reductions and service improvements. Coordinate purchase orders with demand planning and production schedules. Monitor inventory levels to avoid shortages or excess stock, optimizing working capital. Implement procurement strategies to support new product development and operational efficiency. Analyze market trends, material costs, and supply chain risks to proactively adjust sourcing strategies. Partner with engineering and production teams to identify cost‑saving opportunities. Ensure compliance with procurement policies and industry regulations. Monitor supplier performance metrics, including on‑time delivery, quality, and responsiveness. Collaborate with quality teams to address supplier issues and drive corrective actions. Support supplier audits and continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in purchasing, sourcing, or supply‑chain roles, preferably in HVAC or manufacturing industries. Strong negotiation and contract management skills. Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for supplier and internal stakeholder collaboration. APICS, CPM, or CPSM certification is a plus. Competencies
