Lead Data Analyst – Brown University
Join Brown University’s Advancement Division as a Lead Data Analyst and help shape strategic decisions that drive engagement, philanthropic support, and institutional growth. This role collaborates across Marketing, Information Services, Data Management, and Research & Prospect Management, and partners with the Office of Information Technology and the Data Science Institute on advanced machine learning projects. Key Responsibilities
Collect, analyze, and visually represent data from internal and external sources to inform engagement and solicitation strategies. Identify trends, growth opportunities, and predictive insights through statistical analysis, modeling, and data visualization. Lead the development and maturation of data analytics services, establishing policies, protocols, and best practices. Partner with cross‑functional teams and external partners on advanced analytics projects that impact engagement effectiveness. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with strong computational emphasis (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Business Intelligence, or related field). Master’s degree with strong computational emphasis preferred. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in data analytics, data science, mathematics, computer science, or business intelligence. Proficiency in SQL, and experience with Python, R, MATLAB, or C++ for data analysis, modeling, and automation. Experience with data visualization and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Dundas BI, or Jupyter). Knowledge of statistical modeling and classical machine learning techniques (e.g., linear regression, logistic regression, decision trees). Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Benefits
