Job Summary Responsible for beverage control, accurate pours of product, general cleanliness of bar, locking and securing of bar and clubhouse when scheduled, and providing quality service that meets Members’ expectations.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Manage inventory of all wine, beer, liquor and non‑alcoholic beverages; rotate and order products with an emphasis on seasonality and Member interest.
Supervise dining room staff and bar teams; schedule shifts, conduct team meetings, review performance, and perform manager duties.
Train service personnel in wine, beer, liquor and alternative beverage service; develop ongoing educational wine and beverage programming.
Ensure safety and sanitation practices for beverage storage, presentation and service meet club standards and policies.
Oversee beverages for all private events; attend BEO meetings, determine product needs, coordinate upselling opportunities and beverage menu development.
Collaborate with the Chef and Food & Beverage Director on menu development, wine‑friendly food pairings, tasting dinners and special events.
Oversee all club beverage programs including wine lists, wines by the glass, drink table tents and other beverage‑related activities.
Create imaginative cocktail, beer and wine menus with seasonal, interesting ingredients; train staff on techniques and recipes for consistent member experience.
About You – Qualifications
At least 2 years of professional experience as a Beverage Manager, Maître d, or in a similar capacity within a club, restaurant, or hospitality establishment.
At least 3 years of professional experience in developing and executing a successful wine and cocktail program (preferred).
Specialized training in Wine and/or Beverage Industry (preferred).
College degree or 3 years of wine industry experience; culinary or hospitality management emphasis preferred.
Commitment to ongoing education in wine/beer/spirits industry through certifications and specialized training.
Achieved minimum Level 1 Sommelier Certificate (CMS1) and maintain certification through continual education.
