Material Handler-Yard Dog (2nd Shift)
Location: Birmingham, AL – O'Neal Steel.
Join our team for the 2nd Shift (12:00PM-8:00PM), Monday through Friday.
Overtime may be required as needed.
The Material Handler will load and unload material within the warehouse.
They will use hand trucks, forklifts, overhead cranes, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from trucks or trains and within the storage facility.
The role requires familiarity with standard practices and procedures, following instructions and pre‑established guidelines to perform the job functions.
Independent judgment is not typically required.
Responsibilities
Operate a wide variety of material handling equipment, including forklift, overhead crane, stacker crane, side loader, yard dog, etc.
Use a variety of hand tools, including grinder, bander, drill, hammer, pliers, screwdriver, wrench, etc.
Accurately read a tape measure.
Provide high‑quality work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of the position.
Requirements
Must be able to work the 2nd Shift (12:00PM-8:00PM) Monday – Friday.
Upon offer of employment, candidates must pass a criminal background check and drug test.
