Overview
The CNC Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. They are a skilled professional responsible for the upkeep, repair, and optimal functioning of Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machinery and related manufacturing equipment. Their primary goal is to minimize downtime and ensure the high precision and efficiency of production.
Responsibilities
Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.
Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair automated systems and equipment.
Perform all preventive maintenance within the area using work instructions, equipment manuals, and self-developed procedures.
Fabricate new equipment or modify existing equipment using blueprints, schematics, or verbal instructions from the technical staff.
Use a variety of hand and power tools, test equipment, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
Perform light machining and cutting using power tools.
Perform area-required installations, such as ducting, minor air lines, and plumbing fixtures.
Analyze ability (Analytical ability).
Work from blueprints and electrical and pneumatic schematics. Create drawings and sketches for components for fabrication.
Comply with all safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Other duties as assigned not mentioned.
Required Qualifications
High school graduate & 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 3-5 years of hands‑on experience as a CNC Maintenance Technician or in a similar industrial maintenance role within a manufacturing environment.
Proven experience with the repair and troubleshooting of various CNC machine brands (e.g., Haas, Fanuc, Mori Seiki, Mazak, Doosan, etc.).
Experience with a variety of CNC machine configurations (e.g., 3‑axis, 5‑axis mills, lathes, mill‑turn, grinders, etc.).
4+ years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC.
Basic computer experience required.
Must demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.
Must have good organizational skills.
Must be extremely flexible regarding priority changes.
Individual must be fluent in speaking, reading and writing English. Must have the ability to read, analyse, and interpret procedure and/or safety manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
Physical Demands The physical demands are those commonly found in industry standards for Maintenance/Facility Technicians. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing for extended periods. Be available to work off shift when needed.
