The primary function of the Quality Control Technician position is ensuring that all products released from the Ashland site meet defined customer requirements. Working as a member of the production team to maintain safety, quality, and productivity standards.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Accountable for ensuring product testing is performed per the PQCT for specific bag types (e.g., Dairy, Barrier).
Perform product testing as needed to ensure ongoing quality.
Accountable for comprehending specifications and PQCT.
Ensure quality product standards are upheld and suspect product is identified, held, and handled in accordance to established practices and communicating status to Shift Supervisor.
Ensure appropriate adjustments are made by Operator.
Verify correct raw materials are used per bag specifications.
Relieve inspectors/packers for breaks.
Participate in investigations and corrective actions for quality issues or customer complaints.
Aid in product retesting/re-inspection on Holds and Returns.
Complete all documentation accurately.
Assist in the training of other personnel in the quality department.
Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
Inspector/Packer training preferred.
Skills:
Attention to detail, ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Computer:
Basic computer skills, WMS knowledge preferred.
