Base pay range $19.00/hr - $21.00/hr
Line Engineer-I Pay Rate:
$21/hr
Summary The Line Engineer I supports the day-to-day maintenance of the hotel by performing basic repairs and preventative maintenance tasks. This entry-level role provides foundational experience in facilities operations and focuses on supporting guest comfort and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with maintenance and repair of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and guestroom systems under supervision.
Respond to routine service calls in a timely and guest-friendly manner.
Perform daily inspections and document findings for guest rooms, public areas, and equipment.
Complete light tasks including bulb replacement, minor drywall repair, touch-up painting, and filter changes.
Keep maintenance areas and equipment organized and clean.
Learn and follow company safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout and PPE usage.
Maintain detailed logs and records of maintenance activity.
Ensure tools and maintenance areas are safe, secure, and organized.
Maintain current knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local building codes and regulations.
Report to work on time and in full uniform, and uphold a professional appearance and conduct in all guest and team interactions.
Assist in troubleshooting maintenance issues and identifying root causes.
Maintain accurate records of completed work, project updates, and equipment status in designated logs or software.
Clean, lubricate, and maintain tools and equipment; ensure proper storage after use.
Safeguard assigned tool pouch and equipment in accordance with engineering department standards.
Assist in monitoring facility systems and responding to malfunctions or emergencies in a timely, effective manner.
Respond to building emergencies and act quickly to protect guests, staff, and assets.
Restore systems to normal operations efficiently after disruptions or emergency incidents.
Comply with all departmental safety procedures and support an accident-free work environment.
Identify and immediately address any unsafe or hazardous conditions affecting guests or employees.
Log daily activities, work orders, and shift issues to support effective team communication.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in all engineering and maintenance work areas.
Communicate with engineering management regarding work status, required materials, and delayed tasks.
Reference and adhere to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as part of daily operations.
Comply with all policies in the M&R Employee Handbook and perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
0-1 year of general maintenance or facilities experience preferred.
Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tools.
Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform physical work.
Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
Flexibility to work nights, weekends, or holidays as needed.
